Therefore, some say unless you are feeding the nervous system then you don't need to worry. Ultimately, mad cows is caused by cattle farmers who feed meat to their cows rather than just solely vegetation. Cows being herbivores are not meant to eat and if you were to feed a dog or cat a vegetarian diet then they would be sick too.

Prescription Pet Foods For Kidneys

Prescription pet foods for kidney problems, when fed, will lead to death. Prescription pet food for kidney foods are low in protein thus reducing the stress on the kidneys. But that will only kill the pet because our pets need protein. Thus when the vet says the pet will only live for 6 months, it's not because of the kidneys, but because there is not enough protein in the food. We must ask ourselves, is it the amount of protein that is the problem or the quality of the protein? Raw protein is good, cooked is bad. A wholesome raw meat diet is the key to good health. We all know that if we ate Apple Jacks and drank Coca Cola that we would not be healthy, the same with our pets. But we have been convinced by the marketing of the companies and vets that pet food is healthy. However, feeding commercial pet food is no different than eating Apple Jacks instead of apples. Health is ultimately all about common sense.

Spider plants are good for creating healthy air in the house. You need about 20 plants per house but spider plants are also toxic to pets. However, spider plants are best as hanging plants and so if you hang them, then the chance of your pet eating the plant is minimal. The benefit of having spider plants naturally clean the air within your house is something to consider.

Many scents are too powerful for our pets including natural ones. Pennyroyal, citronella, eucalyptus, tea tree, etc are examples of those herbs whose scent is too powerful for our pets. Pennyroyal is even potentially toxic in higher dosages.

Pets are not meant to get botox, wear diamond jewelry, etc. People who treat their pets this way don't realize that their pets are not a Barbie Doll and are in fact a living being. Whole foods contain the vital force of the food while processed foods do not. As an example, white rice cannot grow while whole grain brown rice can. White rice, since it is processed, has no vital force or energy while brown rice does.

Auricular Therapy

Auricular therapy is a method of providing the ear with acupuncture or acupressure to stimulate the body's own natural healing ability. With cats and dogs, especially cats, place your thumb and index finger on either side of the ear starting at the base. Then gently and slowly move your fingers from the base of the ear to the tip while maintaining some pressure. In this way, you hit some acupressure points. You will notice that cats especially like this and can have a nice calming effect on cats.
